After four days of painting, we are finally done refurbishing Nirmal Nagar! And it’s amazing how much the new paintings have impacted the school. The neighbors are suddenly expressing interested in the school and what we are doing. They poke their heads in the gates once in a while or straight out ask us about our project and our progress. Furthermore, we received some news that a government official, after looking at the transformed school, worked to prevent alcoholics from using the school premises for their activities.
The last project we finished was my favorite. Courtney and Justina painted the Gandhi quotation, “Be the change you wish to see in the world,” and we all decorated it (more like showered it) with our handprints. I just keep thinking about how much more fun it’ll be when the kids complete the tree painting with their handprints.

We also went to Hypercity (the Walmart of Hyderabad?) for a last shopping spree for food. I bought so many instant curry mixes. I think I might’ve bought about six different paneer curries and another six different dal mixes. I will miss the food here.
So i promised i would leave a comment and I am! This is so awesome I and I am really happy that you were able to have such an impact.
